What Makes a Scholarship Application Really Stand Out?

The Robert Chilton Sr. Memorial Scholarship awards scholarships annually to two deserving students in the Chilton Family who are currently enrolled or preparing to enroll in a college, university, or trade school.

Each recipient receives $500, directed to their school bookstore account for books and materials. Awards are announced at the annual family reunion (locations vary), so applications must be submitted by June 15 via email to: robertchiltonmemorialscholarship@outlook.com. Selections are based on application criteria.

Application Requirements for Incoming College Students

Incoming students must provide:

  • Higher education acceptance letter
  • Most Recent High School GPA
  • Name and address of College, University or Trade School You Will be Attending
  • Field of Study or Major
  • A 500-word essay on “What receiving this scholarship means to me and how I plan to make an impact in my community through higher education”.


Robert Chilton Memorial Scholarship Application Details

The scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis to two deserving students that are Harvey Chilton's descendants who are either currently enrolled in a college, university or trade school or preparing to begin their first year.

Each recipient will receive $500, and it will be sent directly to their school bookstore account to assist in purchasing books and academic materials.


What Are the Application Submission Details?

Applications should be submitted via email to robertchiltonmemorialscholarship@outlook.com by June 15. The recipients will be announced at the annual family reunion.

 


Application Requirements for Current College Students

Current students must provide:

  • Official enrollment verification letter or a tuition receipt showing active registration.
  • A 500-word essay on “How my college journey has shaped me so far and how this scholarship will help me continue achieving my academic and personal goals”.

When and Where Are Scholarships Awarded?

Recipients are awarded scholarships annually during the family reunion. The location will vary, but announcements are made at the reunion each year.


How can I contribute to the scholarship funds?

The foundation will not accept any donations.
